Early last year I was out exploring the backroads near Sherman, Texas and with a couple of locations in mind to photograph I came across an old red barn near Dorchester, Texas. It’s one of my favorite little red barns in North Texas.
Red Barn Near Dorchester, Texas
Not much info on this old barn. I did find out that the family that owns the land isn’t using the barn, but they are a multi generation family farm, and the previous generations used the barn. Today the family and locals use the barn for family photos, senior pictures, and wedding pictures and more. When you get up close to the barn, you can see why.
I do not have an age on the barn, but the barn is around 100 years old, and the family does some basic upkeep to keep it standing. But other than that, it is what it is.
I’m planning to make the trip out that way to follow up on another lead and plan to get some more photos of the old barn. If you know more about the barn or the farm, please comment below or send us an email if you want to send us contact information.
