After finishing up some photography work in Stamford, Texas and  heading back to my hotel in Abilene I decided to stop at a small farm house south of Stamford, Texas. It’s about halfway between Stamford and Anson. Its across the street from a large farm.

During my time in the area, I had seen this small farm house several times as I came to and from Stamford. It was hard to see it from the road there was some trees and bushes blocking its view from the road but you could see the side of it from the road. I knew at some point I had to stop by and check out this old farm house.

Every time I see its pictures or I look at it from the map I wonder about its story, about who lived there, did they own the surrounding land or did they just work it, and what hppened to the families that lived there.

If you know anything about this old house, please share your stories and pictures with us.

The condition of the Small Abandoned Farm House South of Stamford, Texas

This old farm house has been neglected for decades. Without going inside, it looks like it could be around 100 years old if not older. It was built to last. If it hasn’t already been torn down it won’t be around much longer. The roof is full of holes and the siding is falling apart in many places.

About the Images

A Small Abandoned Farm House South of Stamford, Texas

The images were shot by hand in the mid afternoon sun with my Sony Nex-3N and a Sony SEL16F28 16mm f/2.8. I then edited the images in Adobe Lightroom. Next, I post processed with Topaz Clarity to add texture, brighten, and bring out the details in the images. Then I removed the dust spots. Finally, I used Topaz DeNoise to remove the noise from the images.
